Sports Medicine North Partners With Spire Orthopedic Partners

Greenwich, Connecticut-based orthopedic and spine care management services organization Spire Orthopedic Partners, has announced a new partnership with Sports Medicine North (SMN) and the affiliated Orthopedic Surgical Center of North Shore. The partnership will culminate in broad access to competitive, cutting-edge orthopedic care in the New England region.

This partnership is the fourth Spire has announced in the past six months and will add 20 physicians, 24 advanced practice providers, and 160 non-clinical team members to the company’s clinical network. The agreement with SMN marks Spire's second partnership in the state of Massachusetts.

Spire is a rapidly expanding national partnership of orthopedic practices, backed by New York private equity firm Kohlberg & Company. Spire provides support, administration, and resources for clinical practices, thus relieving management stressors and allowing physicians to focus on patient care. The Spire network includes over 100 physicians and nearly 1,000 employees at 23 locations in the Northeastern United States.

Sports Medicine North, founded in 1994, is one of the most well-regarded comprehensive orthopedic and spine practices in the region. Based in Peabody, Massachusetts, SMN consists of 3 clinics, an MRI center and an ambulatory surgery center, which, combined, provided 110,000 office visits, 7,200 surgeries and 60,000 physical therapy appointments in 2021.
