Dr. Savory, a 1967 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point, served as a platoon leader in Vietnam. After earning a medical degree at Arizona University and completing an orthosurgical internship and residency at the Letterman Army Medical Center and Shriners Hospital for Crippled Children in San Francisco, he served as a Special Operations Surgeon until retiring from the military and entering private practice at the Hughston Clinic in Columbus, Georgia.
Dr. Savory was also Chief of Orthopaedics at Womack Army Hospital in Fort Bragg, North Carolina, was appointed the first Delta Force surgeon, and additionally served as first Command Surgeon of the Joint Special Operations Command. He completed a fellowship in adult reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins before serving at Walter Reed as the Assistant Chief of Orthopaedics.
In 1990, Dr. Savory was called once again into active duty for the first Gulf War and served in the 274th Forward Airborne Surgical Team. He subsequently returned into private practice at the Hughston Clinic, until his retirement in 2016. Since retirement, Savory has acted as consultant to the clinic and Jack Hughston Memorial Hospital, Vice Chairman of National Infantry Museum, and Advisory Board member for Mercer Medicine Harris County.
Dr. Savory told OTW, “I am honored and excited to be joining the A.D.A.M. team as their Chief Medical Officer. Everything about the position represents a new challenge for me personally and I look forward to contributing to A.D.A.M. in a meaningful way. Their innovative approach to 3D and 4D technology represents the future in many aspects of healthcare. A.D.A.M.’s commitment to excellence is to be emulated and the reason I chose to join the A.D.A.M. team.”
A.D.A.M. was originally launched to develop the exciting technology of additive manufacturing, which promises to transform the fabrication of orthopedic and spine implants. In the midst of the pandemic, the company successful closed a 2021 equity crowdfunding campaign and is planning to announce partnerships with third party medical organizations this year.
"Dr. Savory's credentials and experience are truly outstanding. The collaboration between his knowledge, and A.D.A.M.'s technology, is set to revolutionize the future of orthopaedic solutions," A.D.A.M. Chief Executive Officer Denys Gurak said.
