Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics Expands to East Tennessee

The historic and legendary Campbell Clinic Orthopaedics is adding Cookeville, Tennessee-based Tier 1 Orthopedic and Neurosurgical Institute to its expanding care network.
Tier 1 is a multispecialty practice with 11 physicians who offer orthopedic, sports medicine, and neurological services. The partnership will give Tier 1 physicians access to Campbell Clinic’s clinical processes, standard of care, and clinical research.
Tier 1 has five facilities which range geographically throughout eastern Tennessee and southern Kentucky. By adding Tier 1 to its network, in effect, Campbell clinic will be in Albany, Kentucky, Crossville and Cookeville. Tennessee.
Tier 1 orthopedic surgeon Greg Roberts, M.D. explained the importance of the Campbell Clinic partnership to OTW: “When looking for a partner, we focused on finding an institution that shares our commitment to providing the highest quality care and leading-edge orthopaedic expertise.”

Founded in 1909 by the late Willis C. Campbell, a pioneer in orthopedic care, Campbell Clinic is the largest multispecialty orthopedic clinic in the region. In addition to providing orthopedic surgery and care, the clinic also focuses on teaching and research. The alliance adds an additional 100 employees to Campbell Clinic and brings the total physician count of Campbell Clinic to 62.
OTW spoke with Campbell Clinic Chief of Staff Frederick Azar, M.D. about its expansion plans. “We are in constant evaluation of an everchanging healthcare landscape and while we can’t say whether or not any new partnerships will transpire in this calendar year, we can say that Campbell Clinic maintains its goal of providing excellent orthopaedic care to as many patients in the region as possible.”
